Default Howdy from NewMexico!

Howdy!
Old dirtbike rider, but totally new to quads here.

Bought it cause my fiance and freinds like to go riding in Kanab Ut, at the coral pink dunes.
Tried it with my xr650r, but it seems that quads rule there.
Plus i been thinking about gettin a quad anyways.
Tires seem kinda small though, not sure if theyre good 4 sand.
Are stock sizes better for dunes???
It seems awfully low geared with these tires too.
(or mebbe im just used to the 650r's gearing.)

New toy.......

Its an '08 and i paid 2500 fir it.
Not sure if thats a good deal, but seemed fair.

Any "bugs" to look out for on these bikes??

Welcome to the forum. You'll find a wealth of tips and tricks here. You got a good deal on that quad. You might want to consider some paddle tires for the dunes, but you can get around just fine with those tires. I would air them down for the sand though. The KFX 450 was designed for track, and is geared a little lower than most. You can play around with the sprockets to get your final drive a bit taller. Nice lookin quad, hope you enjoy it as much as I do mine.

The smaller the tire, the better the machine can turn them. I would get some paddles from rocky mountain!
