i traded a bad ass 2000 YZF with 426 kit for a 2008 KFX 450r. the bike is snappy and all stock. now I've had some well a lot of mods done to my TRX 450ER but the sprockets are the same size and the Kaw will keep up speed wise and tops out in 5th gear and on the TRX i'm in 4th gear. I grab 5TH and its bye bye Kaw. is the transmission gearing that much different?

Well i can under stand how a 15 tooth sprocket would give me a lot more top end. but the problem i have with that is in the tight woods i have to slip the clutch a lot to keep from stalling. it just seems like the gears are real tight together and when i run side be side with my TRX 450 5th gear loses the KFX 450. it not really a big deal since the kaw is for my wife i just wondered if anyone else noticed that.
and one other thing i wonder if anyone has had this problem but if i ride my TRX a while and then jump on the KFX i stall it over and over again plus thats a big issue for my wife. |
