I'm guessing you're talking about changing the sprockets on the quad. The sprockets are the pieces the chain wrap around and buying different sizes can either "lengthen" or "shorten" each gear. Going up on the countershaft sprocket (the front one connected to the motor) will lengthen the gears and going down will shorten them. The rear sprocket (the one on the axle) is the opposite; going up will shorten them and going down will lengthen them. 1 tooth on the front is equal to 2.5 on the rear. You will have to loosen the chain to change them, and pull the axle out if you want to change the rear one. I'd recommend going up to a 15T on the front, but good luck!
