Picked my new beast this weekend, man what a difference from my Z400...the 450R totally rocks! I went riding on sat and when I cam out on sunday morning there was a tablespoon of oil underneath the engine (sitting in the plastic skid plate area), the oil was still full and I rode on sunday with no further oil leakage...should i be concerned with this or was it probably a gasket was not totally sealed until fully ridden? obviously keep an eye on it going forward but im' curious if anyone else had this happen..

I did my first oil change and filled it to the top of the sight glass and mine leaked and also my intake would pull oil into the airbox. I drained a little out of her and put it about a little over 1/2 in the sight glass and it is perfect no problems. I had the same problem with my outlaw 525. Si I assume about 1/2 glass is where it should stay.

Just a note: there are two drain plugs, check both, and always pull both when you change oil. the little one will strip out if over torked.

Took off that plastic guard...can see the dirt on the engine starting with the gear shift, looks like it's coming out of there somehow and running down, will bring back to dealer to take a look, i'm guessing the gasket is faulty. there is a clear trail of dirt that's laden with oil from the shifter...

Mine had a tiny pinhole leak from the gear shift...it was either replace the case or just use a little liquid weld...I didnt want they pulling the case on a brand new bike so..went for the liquid weld, cant even see it it's such a small amount
