I left my ignition key at home and I tried to hot wire the thing by cutting the two wires going to the back of the key switch and assumed that if I shorted those two together that would simulate the key in the on position. Of coarse it did not work!!! now my batt will not hold a charge and I can only start the thing w/ the battery charger attached to the batt. The problem is when I unplug the batt charger the lights go dimm and it starts running crappy and will die shortly after. So I know that I will probably need a new batt, but w/ the motor not staying running once the charger is removed, that makes me think the generator is shot as well. Anyone have a thought because the dealership charges way too much to look at it and the generator parts areway too much to buy all new rotor and stator...
