Default Just bought an 08 and wonder about hard starts

I just picked up an 08 KFX450 and have noticed that the cold and hot starts aren't what I expected. With F.I. I expect it to fire right off. I have an 06 LTR450 and that F.I. is running before your thumb is pink off the button. Are these simply not as quick of starters? Or could there be an issue? It had set in a guy's shed for almost a year, so I drained the gas and changed the fluids as soon as I got it home.
I have a host of parts showing up in a few days to include pipe, Intake and controller. Hoping that might help the starts.

Any tips?

Turn the idle up maybe? I just bought a new '09 and the idle was set too low. It wouldn't start easily until I gave the knob a couple turns counterclockwise. When it's cold out mine doesn't like to start without the "choke" pulled, too. Had a warmer day today and it fired immediately with no choke (cold motor). When the motor's warm I barely have to tap the button and it's running.

Oh, and don't touch the throttle while starting.

i've seen a few like that, to the point you would think it won't run at all, try checking the valve lash, it may need to be shimmed.

Mine was like that new and stayed that way...

It can be sooo many things really... it really can.
I went through it all numerous times... nothing common was wrong.
Turns out my problem was the stock ECU.

I replaced it with the Procom Fully Reprogrammable ECU.
Cured that right up...

TPS is a culprit as well, if it's not set properly it'll crank over and over but will take an eternity to start.. it's real sensitive.
