Question Spark Arrestor Help

I just got a 2008 kfx450r and it does not have the spark arrestor in it. I know it makes it louder but would it damage anything riding without it. I plan on riding it before I have the chance to buy a spark arrestor for it. Also how much louder is it with the spark arrestor out then with it in (decibel level).

If you take the whole end cap off the stock exhaust you really can't tell a difference in the sound level with it out.

The arrestor is a one-piece arrestor-n-tailpipe section...
So without it in place and the end cap on, the noise level is really high and poppy due to shape and lack of tailpipe section.

Thanks for the reply, that makes sense because it sounds like crap with it out. I want to get a cheap slip-on untill I can afford a full system.

Yeah, just take the end cap off, leave it off, and take the spark arrestor out.

I just did that last night. The whole end cap screws were rusted and the threads were as well so when I finally got the cap off I can't put it back on haha. It looks like crap but it sounds wayy better. I just cant wait to get some kind of aftermarket pipe on it, but I am in desperate need of tires so the exhaust is gonna have to wait.

When you get ready for exhaust check with Ken at KB motorsports.

He has been having Jardine full exhaust on sale for 40% off... got some bulk buy deal on them or something... He's had the 2 systems for $365 or less and the one that is $365 is regularly $610... smoking deal... and dyno proven to make power gains equal to the once king of performance....
