So my '09 full race motor is smoking on start up and blows blue smoke pretty good until the motor is warmed up to normal temp. Got 17 or so races on the motor so prob time for a piston and rings. My question is, do you think I will do damage if I race a few more times before I get a new piston? Just trying to find a gap in the race schedule.

I would guess it would be ok other then your running a risk if the pistion brakes of causeing cylinder/head damage which of course would be much more costly then just a piston, If you work on it all night it shouldnt take more then 4 -8 hrs to replace the piston maybe even quicker if you have done it before.
