Looks sweet! Max ground clearance and still uses a 19 1/4 shock Im impressed. Might have to look into one of these kfxs. How much do the arms run? Also looks like the tierod is in perfect alignment with the arms, so is there any bumpsteer?

Thanks ..... the person that designed these a-arms has been designing atv suspension since the 80's. He is the man. He hand builds and tig welds these a-arms for me.

This is gonna be a long one ....... The tie rods are in the stock locations. They have not been moved. The look of perfect alignment may not be right at the a-arms are max clearance. So they are parallel to the upper tube, but the upper tube drops down to catch the ball joint. The KFX450 starts to get bump steer in the droop at about 8 inches of travel. I would say the first 10 to 10 1/2 inches of travel has almost no bump steer. After that the bump steer progresses. So you could technically limit the travel at about 10 - 10 1/2 and have almost no bumpsteer. My bike is setup for just over 11 1/2 inches of travel and has minimal bumpsteer in the droop only. All bikes have some bump steer. The KFX450 front end design is very good and the bike will work great with these long travel a-arms.

Whate is the motion ratio of the a-arms? What thickness of tubing/kind of tubing are they made from?

2-1 leverage ratio but not sure about thickness/type of metal. I am pretty sure they are chromoly. hope this helps. I have a set on order along with fox evols. They are custom designed and hand tig welded by a pro suspension fabricator. Will post pics as soon as I get them.

any chance you can get the charts what the motion ratio's are in motion? Just doesnt seem right with the a-arms design and still use that long of a shock.

They are 2 - 1 leverage ratio. The arms are made from 4130, .095, 1 inch tubing.

What does not seem right? The a-arms are designed and manufactured by one of the top atv suspension designers around. He designs suspension for some of the top names in the industry and has been designing ATV suspension since the 80's.

With alot of high clearance or Max ground clearance a-arms, you tend to get away from the best possibly handling suspenion for that quad design. I would just like to see the motion ratio in motion, almost every a-arm changes when in motion. There are just alot of people a-arms that dont know there motion ratio or have a clue how to figure it out. Consumers like to blame the shocks if it doestn handle right, it may just be the a-arms itself. Its kinda like the yfz- why do people make there a-arms for 18.5 shocks? The yfz with long travel is to fit and work best with 17.5 shocks. I just like to get into details. LOL Nothing against you- the a-arms look top-notch but i like to see actual documents.

Thanks for the update Steve. Cant wait to ride this setup. Next weekend for sure. I guess the stock rear shock will need to go soon as well. Will give you a call when ready to upgrade.

This guy does ....... but no need to do it by trail and error now. These a-arms are designed on a HIGH dollar suspension program. Shock position can be manipulated and cycled in 2 seconds.
