I dont no if everyone is having as many problems as i am with bearings and on this machine or if its just me. but before you jump to conclusions, and tell me yours are all fine, you might want to check yours.
My rear carrier bearings have gone out twice now and no my axle is not bent. I had to replace the carrier its self once. two of my lower a-arm bearings are shot and the other 2 are about to go. These are hard to tell if they are bad until you pull off the a-arms and remove the seals. I didnt no until i did this. My stearing stem bearing is shot, my swing arm bearings are just about gone and my upper a arm bearings are just about bad too. Every year i go through and put in all new bearings and bushings no matter what quad I have at the time. I must say that the kfx is the best one I have had so far but no grease fittings is killing us here. I am drilling holes in my a-arms and putting some in. I am also going to do this on my stearing stem and drill holes in the swing arm bold at bearing locations and put a grease fitting at the end of it. |

The a arms use ball joints same as the steering stem. It costs 150 bucks to replace uppers and lowers complete. All Balls makes replacements. The stem ball joint is 83 bucks.
I haven't looked but my bearing lasted all season in my carrier. Do you cross a lot of creeks and water ways? I ususally try to avoid submerging the carrier as I hear it holds water.

they look like this ![]() Aftermarket carriers may not have bearings with seals and could include a grease zerk for lubrication. |
