Axle bearings gone bad - Kawasaki KFX450 Forum

My neighbor who has a KFX 450 also had his axle bearings go out on him toady while we were at the track. Anyone had this problem? If so what caused it?

It has 2 bearings on the left and one on the right. A friend had his swingarm bored to ad two bearings on the left. Problem solved. It's because of riding burms on the mx track. Honda also has 3 bearings but yamaha has 4.

haha you should see what my carrier looks like. I blew out my brake hub side bearings and didnt notice for about 5-10 laps on the track. It was destroyed! and took my brake hub with it. Im running a baldwin now

Stupid question, i've never had axle bearings go out, how can you tell if they blow out?

Lots of play in the axle, creaking and other weird sounds coming from the carrier.

or like my neighbor the chain derailed and wrapped around the axle while the brake rotors started to bang against the brake caliper.

I didn't put on a skid plate before my first harescramble, and I bent the brake rotor on a jump (landed on rocks). prode like that for a while before noticing the noises etc.... do NOT rely on that stock plastic skid plate
