I was riding the other day and my front brakes locked up. My local mechanic said that he thought the master design was not that great because the hose's come from the bottom as oppose to the the top or front. He said other customers of his were swapping them out for the YFZ 450 master cyclinder. Any feedback on this?

It's the first i've heard of this isssue..it would seem like a serious design flaw, wonder if anyone else has had the same run in..Hopefully you were not going too fast when that happened

I have had my front wheels lock up before but only cuz there was a rock jammed in between the rim and the caliper.

yeah i have not heard anything about the master cylinder being bad. And when it first came out, al the shoot outs said the kfx had great breaks so why people would replace with a yfz master cylinder sounds weird to me, But idk
