The lower leg of the subframe is shortened and then rebolted to the main frame allowing the sub frame to swing down and this in return lowers the grab bar height. Basicly you are lowering the center of gravity and making a flatter seat. Some guys just cut a part of the lower subframe mount out and then reattach it, while others cut the sub frame and then insert a block so they can drill and tap it for a heim joint.

This is mine. BCS can do it if you don't wanna do it yourself.

the problem with attaching a heim joint is there is an incredible amount of stress put in that location, and during much testing with these heim joints, weve broken several of them, so now we just cut a section out and then reweld it back on, looking factory. There is no height adjustment but you never have to worry about your subframe breaking in a crutial spot while riding/racing.

How do you know how much to take out? Is there any aftermarket for sub frames yet?

Walsh makes one, but I'm not sure if it's for sale yet. Cody Gibson is running it.

if you only take out the material up to the chain roller you will be safe, it may not look like much but it makes a world of difference.
