hello, when i bought my kfx from the previous owner, it was set up for road use with low profile road tires, the compression damping and rebound on the front were turned in near full, and was almost solid, so the front shocks may not have done much work. Since i got it I turned the compression and rebound all the way out but it has only made a slight difference, it still seems quite hard and still a bit slow on the rebound, my preload is about right, but they seem so stiff rather than nice and plush. Could this be because they may not have worked so much when they were set hard????

I would start by setting the sag. The front should be about 2.5 inches and the rear about 3 inches. Get the quad off the ground and measure from the top of your rear tires to a point on the rear fender. Remember the point by making a mark or piece tape. Try to make it as straight up from the tire as possible. Use this as measurement A. Then place the quad back on the ground on its tires and sit on the quad in your normal riding position and measure in the same spots again. This is Measurement B. You will probably need another person to measure while you are sitting on the quad. Subtract measurement B from A and you have your sag. Do the same with the front. I have found it is easier to use the upper ball joint to a point on the front fender on the front. Start with that and adjust your high and low speed compression on the rear accordingly. Maybe soften up both the high and low speed compression on the rear (counterclockwise on the dials) The front only has one compression setting if you are running stock shocks. You will just have to try to dink with it until it feels better. These are just my opinions on it and I am sure there are others on here that may have better advice for you.
