I just picked my KFX450 up a few days ago and was looking at putting a slip on exhaust and probably a aftermarket K&N air filter on it but heard something about the EFI would need to be reprogrammed if i do so. So my question is, do i really need to buy an EFI programmer if im just going to put a slip on and an aftermarket air filter?

You may not if you leave your air box lid on. but once you remove it, you WILL need a programmer.

You willl need programmer if you put exhaust and different air filter. and if you plan on any other mods to the engine the money is well spent with the PCIII.

My first purchase was a slip on and pciii....I knew i'd be upgrading to a full exhaust sooner or later and additionally, I wanted to run a UNI filter with the S/O and that really requires some adjustments to the PCiii.
