hello, i have a 2008 450r and i am finally thinking about maybe making it run a little bit better. i would like to get a new fuel re programmer, i have read page after page about the pc3 but i am very afraid of it. i am very new to efi and i also dont have any dealers or places to dyno/tune it for me. i am just wondering if the plug and play controllers are good enough to use and if they really are that simple/fool proof.

a pc3 is the best fuel controller out there!it has the best range of adjustability!as for dyno tuning you dont have to do that!
if you get a popular exhaust along with an intake fci is the top of the line one theres plenty of maps that are gonna have you running pretty smooth!if you get into cams then youll have to dyno tune i just did cams and just got dynoed! if your just doin a pc3 now without any other mods than you wont see any improvement!the intake is the most restrictive thing in the kfx change that 1st once you do that youll need a pc3!then add a full exhaust for a huge gain!

I use PCommander for my bikes great product no complaints however for my 2008 KFX 450r I went with Two Brothers Full Exhaust and Two brothers Juice Box and I think it works great just plug and play no need for maps its working great I'm still very impressed.
Just another option!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |

I think it is all 6 of one, half dozen of another...
I think it is a lot about who you are and how you like to go about things. I can absolutely certainly see the merit of all the "other" type fuel controllers that fall under the category of 'carb logic' tuners. That's every fuel controller except Power Commander. I say this because I have a Procom programmable ECU and kind of have some of both in a way. See my setup has the most adjustability by far, just on fuel alone. There is so much you can do with it, and it is so easy. But to actually program it, change a map, etc... you have to hook it up to a computer, make the changes in the software and load it through the usb. However, it has 10 separate preloaded maps on it. So you can switch through these sort of on-the-fly. For that reason, I have respect for the carb logic controllers.... you can just make changes on the fly wherever you are. No computer or anything needed. I think they are all good. I just went with the Procom ECU because my stock one was bad... and I also wanted the full control and extra adjustability of my fuel... and also the big bonus of gaining control of my ignition timing.
