Exclamation Is it safe to run my kfx450 without the airbox lid?

I have a 2008 kfx450 with a pro circuit T4 full system and a dyno jet power commander, as i was cleaning it the other day i decided to take my airbox lid off and try it out, i took it for a spin and it sounds so much better and i noticed that it had alot more power, is it safe to run it without the lid? also would i have to change my map on the power commander ?

Check your spark plug. It's prolly running lean with out the lid.
