Oh how I love those light weight tires. I just have to be careful when we get into some growth back in the dunes. Don't need a hole punched in my $$$ tires

A few weeks ago some of my friends were out at Gordons Well and those dunes were ultra soft. Powder razor backs that several others got stuck on. I love straight paddles as I can climb about any hill from a dead stop at the base if I want...... Oh that gives me wood just thinking about it.

Ahhh, can't wait. I think I'm heading out to Mother G in two weeks.

Git 'er done!

if you really want powder sand in Glamis I know where it is at... me and the crew would run from Patton Valley straight on thru to the Glamis store thru the middle right after a strong wind.. talk about power sand.. we had to run 2lbs of air to get enough traction and float to run the many hills. Some really challenging dunes hiding out there.. just watch for low flying a/c and dark spots on peaks where somone could be glassing you.

Found some good powder last time we were out--plenty of wind. Do any of you guys use the Skat Trac Edge's? Feedback?

I bought Sand Stars after my AMS Sand Snakes--I actually liked them a lot, save for the fact that they were a bit heavy. My KFX did not lack traction at all with the Sand Stars. Still, the Sand Snakes were a lot lighter, and I wanted to get back into a lighter tire/wheel combo (the SandStars were 10"). I picked up a set of Skat Trak Edges (22x11x8) on 8" Douglas wheels. They are very light, but larger in diameter than the Sand Stars. I'm going to try them out for the first time over the Memorial Day weekend (don't knwo what wash we'll be at yet, but I'll post it here as the date approaches).

My buddy I go out with has been riding Glamis dunes now for 30+ years. He loves the Edges for his quad (Raptor 700). He got those instead of the STU Skate I's that was on his older Quadzilla 500.

You will love the Edges. Good tire. If you want the best tires, go STU or Skat-Trak.

Just made the switch from SandStars to Turbo 8 paddle tires. Does anyone know where I can pick-up some of those weights that Farm Tractors use for the front of there tractor? By the way don't follow me very close in the sand you will be sorry!!
PEOPLE PLEASE DO NOT BUY SANDSTAR REAR PADDLE TIRES THERE JUNK!!! PERIOD!!!

Finally got something different. Went with some 6 paddle extremes and so far they've worked out great.

I use 21 x 12 x 8 6-paddle haulers with stock rear sprocket and a 13 tooth front... It works really well in my opinion...
