For motocross racing, and general riding, how much do the 18 inch dia. tires affect handling compared to the 20 inch tires? Does it help that much to be a inch closer to the ground? This is with stock suspension. Thanks for the help.

If you are going to be racing motocross then yes it does make a diiference. You will want to run 20in tires up front and 18in tires on the rear. The 2 inches will help to lower the center of gravity and you will be able to turn harder and faster. You will need to re-gear once you install 18's cuz the bike will max out at like 50mph.

I already have a 15 tooth on the front. How low do I need to go in the rear to equal what I have now with 20 inch tires, if I go to 18 inch?

If you have a stock motor then the 15t front should be fine.

you may want to try going down 1 or 2 teeth in the rear. this will give you a little more top end speed and possibly broaden out the power band.
