Default Initial quad set-up

Ok, so I got a wild hair up my butt today and plan on setting up my back-up quad ( 08 KFX 450 ) to do a little TT/Flat Track racing. The quad has a few upgrades already ( exhaust, intake, PC3, nerfs, kill switch, steering stabilizer, etc.. ). I have a sway bar heading this way courtesy of e-bay.
I also have a set of +2 A Arms off my main bike ( 08 KFX 450 also ). I am wondering about those lowering kits I saw on e-bay. Do they work? are the safe? I don't want to be cartwheeling down the track because my front end falls off. How bad is it to use the wheel spacers? I know it is bad on the bearings etc.. but they would only be on there for the race, then they would come back off, just like the lowering kit. Has anyone used the Duro brand tires? Are they any good? Would a lowered sub frame be worth the effort? I am pretty sure I could do it myself, but is it worth my time? I am not trying to compete with the pros or anything, just want somethng to be remotely competitive in the "Old, Slow and Talentless" class at the local outlaw race.

the crd lowering kits would be your best bet...you can pick up a front/rear combo on ebay for like $80 bucks. not to mention that when your going to trail ride its just a simple move of the lower shock back to the org hole and your back to stock ride height. If your going to put 2 plus arms on i wouldnt put spacers on the front as it is going to make you push like a mother. deff go with a 2in spacer in the rear if running a stock axle...if you have a +2 then go with an 1.5 spacer. DEf. DEF. DEF. put on the sway bar....it makes a night and day difference. The spacers arent going to wear anything long as your not really doing any HUGE jumps. the lower subframe i wouldnt worry about unless you were going to start running nationals or a pro class. and last...STAY AWAY FROM THE DURO TIRES!!!!!!!!!! they are hard as a rock. get american racers or hoosiers. can find them used for cheep. who cares about the amount of tread...and 50% hoosier is going to still handle better than a 100% duro lol..hope this helps..good luck and have fun...

Thanks for the info. I will stay away from the Duros. Have you seen/used the Maxxis TT tires? I'm a huge Maxxis fan and am very happy with my past experiences

ive seen them but never ran them. Dirt wheels did a write up on a ltr that was set up for flat track/super moto. they used the maxis tires and said they were great. lol. they are the same as the american racer but much more expensive it your buying them new. Id go with a hoosier. lots of sizes avib. and unlinke the amreican racer, they will hold air over night. thats the one thing it didnt like about my american racers. sure they lasted me all year but after 2 days the tires would be 100% flat lol.

I'll make sure to post some pics of my first race. It should be good for a laugh or two.
