Are you using the choke knob? (plastic black under the upper frame on the left)

I know when I 1st got mine I was use to my Z & on start up in needs abit of fuel, & ya need to be on the gas, I flooded my kfx a few times when I 1st got it b/c I was thinking it needed fuel but w/ that FI it does not need any...

it'll get better with more hours on the motor i have like 4 or 5 on mine now and its starting to get better. If you stall it try pull starting it, it will fire right up rolled it down hill a few times when i stalled it and it fired after it turned over like twice.

I forgot about that as ZButcher mentioned you cannot touch the throttle when starting this bike or it will flood. I've made that mistake myself a few times in the beginning.

So the keys to starting the KFX 450 are:

1.) pulled the black knob to engage the choke
2.) press the start button (without giving it gas)
3.) it should start a little quicker after the 10 hour break in

Not to rain on anybodies parade here. But the starting issues is now the make or break point, weather I keep it or sell. I now have over 20 hours on my KXF plus 4 motos. My Quad has been back twice for starting, stalling issues. They have look at everything including TPS. Telling me to install a kick starter to solve my problem is laughable. Other than that, I love this Quad !

Spoken very well agree 100% I'm going to give the battery suggestion a shot and see if that improves things. Racing XC and hole shots have been tough with the slow starting

dealer did not check the battary before delivery to make sure it had a full charge so i pulled it out and put it on a trickle charger starts just fine now .battaries develope a memory for a full charge from there first charge they receive so let it charge at 6amps for ten hours for a full charge

But wouldn't the battery charge to a full state after riding on it for a while??
