me and a friend are having an argument about cams. what we are both really wondering is if you get new cams do you have to run richer fuel? i wouldnt think so because cams just regulate how much fuel goes in(ex open faster or longer or both)

When you install parts that change the air-moving capacity of your engine, then you may need to alter the carburetor’s or throttle body ability to move fuel as well. That can mean changing jets or mapping. A better-breathing air filter, a better-flowing exhaust system, more aggressive cams, and other engine mods can all mean jetting changes or mapping changes for optimum power output.
