Dirt Wheel 450 shootout

I just read the 450 shootout and they kept mentioning that the KFX450 has a "wandering chassis." It doesn't always go where you want it to in certain conditions. Has anyone experienced anything like this? Does it feel that much different than a YFZ for example?

That's DirtWheels for you. When I first test rode at the Kawi Press Conference it was like that. You wanna know how long it took me to fix that? Well, lets see. I came back off the track, had the compression/rebound adjusted better to suit me, went back out/came back another time to dial in some more, and guess what; problem solved!

This goes to show why Dirtwheels is a joke and should not be trusted. On the track when you dial in the suspension it will go anywhere you point it and does not wander at all. Stock, yes it does. Spend a whole 5mins adjusting and it's fixed like I said. Worthless pos DW.

I totally ageree! The 1st time I rode in the woods I had not touched it. I was all over the place coming out of turns, on rough straights etc. I spent the whole 5-10 minutes (2 adjustments is all it took) and bam! This thing is on rails now. NEVER believe DW.
hmm no problems here i love the stock suspension, i dont experience to much wander at all
im not good at dialing in suspension. can you guys tell me what exactly you did to make it better. im close but not quite perfect
There isn't much to say. Read how to do the adjustments in the manual if you still aren't sure and then adjust from there. There are multiple adjustments and each afftect different things. Find out what your problem areas are and then we can work w/you if still not satisfied.
I just got the new dirt wheels the other day and was excited to read it but more i read it more i realized what a joke it was it said the yfz was the best they must have meant that as joke i have a yfz and kfx and i thought either the kfx or ltr would win but they were in the bottom end of the class they said and since when did honda get any better?but it was a joke to say the least
They put the bikes on a dyno ....... looks like the KFX made the most HP stk. Tha twas kinda cool.

FUELATV
to tell you the truth i'm surprised they actually put the dyno results in there if the god almighty yfz is so damn great.

I read the DW pub , and I also have a kfx 450R, they also stated that the bike stock or did not say that the one they tested GP'Sd a 71 MPH "Not" in stock form the best I ran was a 65 wound out tight with VP 107 , and no wondering front end at that time. Now after a few mods Power Commander, pipe, air box mod, sprocket mod, it GP'Sed at over 71 and front end wandering. The front end thing is caused by the tires, go buy some ITP's and its gone. Had that problem on my 400 same tires, after I stroked it to a 502 major wondering at speeds over 65-68 mph, changed the tires on the front and problem solved. Just FYI. Still the only 450 to have rev, gotta love it. I also have a 700 raptor had the same wondering problem, slapped on a pair of ITP's problem solved.
