Below is a copy of the question and response I received from William Yokley in reference to the staring issue. I've met William at a few of the national races and he is a really nice guy and willing to talk to anybody. I was actually expecting to get an answer from his mechanic or somebody else and surprised that he personally answered the email. With him being a full Kawasaki ride I'm sure if anyone comes up with a solution to start the bike any faster it will be the Yokley Racing Team.

Question:
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Bill,
Running a KFX450 at our local hare scrambles here in NY, NJ and PA.
Doing well in the points, but can not get a good start off the line. The
bike does not seem to want to fire up as quickly as the Honda's and Yamaha's
do. Is there any trick you guys have figured out?
Thanks for any help and best for luck in the second half of the GNCC season.
Best Regards,
Anthony

Hey Anthony,
I've been having that problem all year long with mine to. I now have kick
starter on mine and it seems to be working really well. The problem is that my
heal guards won't work without trimming a hole out in them to allow for my foot
to go backwords. Ims-Roll is working on some heal guards for me that will allow
for the kicker. If you will check with me from time to time I will let you know
what I come across.
Thanks,
William Yokley
