I hope it is similar to the Cannondale mapping procedures. I still think they made the LTR's injection to limited. The Dale system was virtually limitless, you could set it absolutely anyway you wanted. Al Elks has made up a bunch of stuff to re-map his LTR but it still is'nt as nice as the Dale programming. Hell, i'm happy it has EFI, i don't mean to sound like i'm complaining....just wishing more or less!!! lol

From the Keihin specs they've listed for this machine, it sounds exactly like the EFI system on the LTR. I would wager a bunch of money that Yoshi R&D already has the system ready to go, with a PIM and FIMAK. Since it's all Keihin parts for the EFI system, the plug connectors might even be the same (depends on what the factory spec'd out - Suzuki might only have Suzuki-type connectors on it, or they might be Keihin connectors).

This will be interesting. If it's all Keihin stuff, AND Yoshi R&D is on top of it, then there are already tuners out there that will understand this EFI system. SWEET!

So far nothing is officailly out. I know Power Commanders will be available very soon. The kawi programmer is on Back order. I will start doing dyno testing once a controller is available.

see I'm also curious. When my friend got his LTR, we rode it right before we installed the cherrybomb and without the cherry bomb it didnt seem to have that much power. I mean, not much that I would give up my yfz or even a honda for that matter. But you add the cherry bomb and it is almost like a must have for the LTR. With the cherry bomb it feels like there has been a bunch of stuff done to the engine. So I wonder how the kawi will run right off the showroom floor or if you want that extra "umfff" you will need to add some sort of efi programmer. Just some curiosty I have.

I was at the Kawasaki Press Conference and Ride and got to speak w/a few people from Kaw and asked some questions about EFI programmers. According to what they claimed there will be the factory racer kit which will allow a lot of tuning but nowhere near the Cannondale systems for around a thousand dollars.

However, they said that most of the engine builders and pipe manufacturers will be selling their own kits designed for their equipment. Nothing crazy but will be in the $200-300 range for most kits, not including the parts your buying. So not too cheap.

Which probably means it will be a "Dobecks" style unit like the Raptor/LTR models you can buy

I called Dyno Jet yesterday and they are shipping me out one of their first powercommander's for the KFX 450. I should have it tomorrow. I had to pay full retail price but I will have it before most dealers. It will be fun to see how the kfx responds to mods.

I got 5 in yesterday. I have not had a chance to dyno it yet. I hope to have maps and numbers next week.

Ok I am new to fuel injection. What is a Power Commander is something you install on the quad and program it and leave it installed? Or is it a unit you hook up and program the EFI then remove it and go? Just curious.....thanks
