don't know how many of you have heard but there has been a recall on the KFX 450's gas tanks, if you haven't heard about it and haven't had yours fixed you might want to call your dealer.

on kawi's website under owner info you need to enter your VIN. gonna have to let the dealer know tomorrow.

Me too.

mine's also @ the dealer per the recall...

But Im trying to work out a deal w/ him. On my 1st service on the quad I was a bit pissed off about a few things that thay did or did not do

After that, thay said that thay make it "Right " w/ me. So now w/ the recall for the new tank, I was telling him that I was only getting about 55miles out of a tank of fuel. w/ my mods. & that I was going to get the IMS tank for it anyway, so w/ a little jive talkin, He's going to try & get me the bigger tank from IMS, witch is on there site. we will see..

85 mile rides without a station in site are now going to be fun!! I think we will be seeing BS in future photos..

I checked mine and it's leaking!!! Dealer ordered the tank. Seems like Kawi is going to take care of us on this issue.

Shawn,,, try purchasing a MSR fuel bottle at REI in the smallest size they have. It will easily fit in your camel back and not leak at all.

here is a 11 oz photo from REI for $11

speaking of that dealer.. Dustin and I were taking a serious look at the new Aprilia 550 RXV dirt bike.. you can plate it and ride the WI routes plus any dirt roads and it has 70 hp stock with a nice quiet duel muffler. Fuel injected V twin. 100+ mph and susupension to rip up BRF when it is full of woops.

I wonder if I would dare make a purchase from that place?

Im waiting on about 300bucks worth of parts on the Z. ehs lid, a k&n, new tip for my pipe, & block off plate for the rear brake. & just got done putting that new clutch in, I should have that ready togo by this coming weekend..

But I sure dont want to ride it.. I want my KFX back, im going to the dealer today to see where thay are @ on it & mybe put a boot in someones a$$

I am having my gas tank replaced as well as it is one of the problem ones but still waiting on my frame from Kawi to get it swapped. Delayed 2 weeks from original date.

As for the Aprilia. A lot of us on the C'Dale forums have talked of making a conversion as the 450 or 550 engine is in the $3k range plus the EFI setup/wiring. Would be a killer idea. I actually met someone who has one of the 550 dirtbikes that's street legal and looks flatout amazing. The sound is like wow.

From what our dealer is telling me, Kawi is having trouble getting all the new tanks out in a timely manner. Our's has been there for a couple weeks already and they are confident they will have the tank by Thurs. (6/14). Not much I can do about it but wait.

Ok just got back from the dealer, I got some good news & some bad. 1st the good, Dealer got my tank from Kawi & Thay also got me the IMS tank on THEM

wooohoo... Now the bad, The O-ring for the fuel pump is on back order till the 25th

So thay can not install my tank till then

If anyone knows of a dealer w/ a new O-ring Plese let me know.. Thx Butcher

That's a common problem. I am waiting on both the tank and the o-ring. Was told it'd be atleast another week.

We picked our KFX up from the dealer over the weekend. The new tank looks good. The dealer had it for 3 weeks though.
