Hey, I read about the new KFX450R in a dirtwheels magazine and I read about the reverse stuff, and it said that for mx racers, will find a way of how to get the reverse gear removed. I was wondering if the reverse gear can be removed and the reverse switch and all? Anyone know?

Why? Because I don't like reverse on my quads. At times it can be nice, but for MX Racing, its not going to help. So I am going to want to know how to remove it when I got a KFX450R. I am working on that right now, kind of, but first I need to wait till I get my shocks back from their rebuilds from TCS Suspension. So I can't sell my YFZ450 till I get my shocks back, which won't be long, hopefully.

and if you crash or get stuck in the first corner you will be happy to have the reverse sow you could back up faster and be back on the track way faster!!!

and also you got to replace the gear with something to fill up the gap.. which i think would not be lighter keep the reverse for a few pound i dont think it will make a big difference.... will make a bigger difference if you dont have it cause you will still be in the first corner trying to back up.....

just my 2 cent .... but i realy think you should not remove it...

That's one of the many reasons i went with the kfx..reverse..its a great feature especially if you do lots of trail riding with little kids, i'm always backing out of dead end trails
Reverse is also the reasonigotthe kfx as well i hada z-400 before andi looked atthe ltrfor a longtime but the reverse gear iswhat made me get the kfx because you have the option to back up when needed. I really dont think you wouldgain anything from removing it because like egres said you have to replace it with something so I dont think you would gain anything by removing the reverse gear.
