After going around to several local dealers, I finally made the decision to go pick up a Green KFX450 today. I spoke with the salesman on the phone and told him I'd be after the quad in the next hour, so they could be getting it out of the crate and assembling it and such.

The salesman had just finished up the paper work and was going over everything and I was signing it and such when one of the mechanics came running in saying, "Wait! Wait! We have a problem." At first I thought he was only joking, but he continues to say that the bike is blowing out oil from a leaking gasket and is going to need fixed before it can be sold.

Luckily, they had one other green one still in the crate but I can't get it til tomorrow since they were about to close by the time all of this had happened and it still needed to be assembled. Tonight is going to be a pretty long night, lol.

I hope this is only a freak think and that this was an isolated problem. I just hope the quad will be reliable and not give too many problems.

Idk, I have found a few things but I always check before even riding a new machine. My subframe mounts didn't have any threads loctited or anything. All were somewhat tight but easily would've vibrated out quickly. Same as a few other things such as the sprocket/case saver cover. When I picked mine up they were able to be loosened by fingers. Not tight at all. Not as bad as the 450R I picked up back in early 04 that had the engine mounts pretty loose though.

Never ride a new quad w/out inspecting all the bolts first.

Probably just a freak accident, hopefully. Things happen! Figure the people are just getting the hang of assembling everything at the factory.

Yeah I understand freak things happen like this, I just figured I'd post it up to see if anyone else has had similar problems. Going to pick up the other one today though!

I think that im just going to wait until next spring to get one. Let kawasaki work out all the kinks of the first year model and that sort of thing and buy an 09. I know how cool it is to be the first one to have a new quad tho
