Hey folks, I'm a noob here and picked up an '08 KFX about a month ago. Unfortunately I didnt get a manual so I'm learning things daily about it.

Well its come time to change the oil, and I noticed theres no dipstick....this is my first "performance" quad so I assume this is normal.

My question is how do I know enough oil is enough when changing it out? Is the process the same as any other quad? Pull the plug, drain, pull filter, replace, add plug, add oil? Just dont know how much its TOO much.

Thanks!!

Be carefull not to add too much. You should get a manual and it tells how many ml"s to add. or you can add till its alittle past the half point on the sight glass on the side of the motor. It you fill to the top of the sight glass that is too much and it will suck oil into your air box and smoke alittle.

thanks for the help Mike. Someone suggested I get a measuring cup and do the measurments that way. I'll still trying to track down a manual, kawi.com wanted like 65 bucks for one.
Hey guys,

You will find in Periodic Maintenance:

SAE 10W-40 1.15L (1.22qt) w/o filter
1.20L (1.27qt) w/filter
1.35L (1.43qt) completely dry

Hope this helps.

LTGTR,

Andy
