I pulled my spark arrestor out just to see what it would sound like. Don't do it, you will be disapointed. It made almost NO sound difference, the stock muffler is junk no matter what you do to it. Just save up and get a slip on, you will be alot happier.

I understand, but I may be racing stock class(havent decided yet) so I could just switch the endcap out. The guy said the new cap gave it better sound output, if that isn't the case, it would be pointless.
Who cares about sound? New regulations being put into play are cutting down sound tremendously. I like being able to hear the engine over the exhaust myself to be able to tell the exact rpm range it's in better. If there's no performance gain then I don't see a reason to spend money for sound.
I care about sound, as do most everyone I know. I don't want LOUD, but I, as most people like a nice healthy sounding exhaust.

I heard that with this new fuel injection with a pipe or any other intake type mods you dont have to do anything but bolt them on with the luxary of the new fuel injection
Not true. KFX450 uses an open loop EFI system.
so your saying that you have to take the quad to the dealer so he can raise the mixture on the bike if you put a pipe on it?
you will need to purchase a FI management system like the power commander III to adjust the fuel
If the manufacturers would put closed loop efi on them, we wouldn't have to do anything to raise the mixture at all. It would be nice it they did that, but I don't think they ever will.
we have power commander 3 units available, i am sure dobeck will have one soon and so will a couple other companies.

The power commander 3 is by far the top of the line though.

How easy are these to use? Do you still check your plug to see if it's running lean/rich or does it let you know?
Any pipes or slip ons out there that wouldn't need to have the bike reprogrammed?
i'm new to the whole fuel injection thing..... do the pipes come with anything like the cherry bomb for the lt-r450 or since i have two do i need to buy two mapping components?

Putting on an aftermarket exhaust system allows the engine to exit more air which will produce more power. So if you can buy a pipe that doesn't need a fuel management system I wouldn't waste the money.

Not at this time, you will have to buy a fuel controller.

Why couldn't they use a closed loop efi?

Will the efi on the KFX still compensate for altitude, temperature and such?
It has a meter in the airbox that measures air density, and it compensates appropriately.

Most likely cost and they are not forced by EPA to do it yet.

Answer to your second question is yes.
