I installed all of the PRM skids on my bike tonight. The belly skid rattles soo bad its the loudest thing on the bike, the worst part is its high pitched and hurts your ears.

I thought it was the swingarm skid at first so I pulled it off and put some thing foam on it. That didn't help so I pulled the belly skid off and no noise. I have all of the bolts tight and I am getting really mad. Its late so I'll call PRM tommorow.

Why in the HELL did PRM use hose clamps to hold the back of the skid plate on. They also don't use one of the factory holes (but its center punched were the hole should be) so I 'm thinkin that might be the problem.

Any suggestions would help.
Thanks

I thought I was the only one with PRM skids. I just got mine today and what is with those pipe clamps. Someone was pressed on time. Very nice quality work for the a-arm skids and swingarm skid but the belly pan was weird.

It was even missing bolts.

I dont know about a fix but im sure they will change there design(or I hope).

I fixed the noise, I dilled out the center punched mark and bolted the skid plate down in the hole that PRM decided not to use. When I called PRM they said they originally planned to use the third bolt hole but decided not to because of the spacing. It took me 20 min. to drill the hole and make a spacer. Hopfully they fix the problem.

Heres a story for you. doesnt have to do with PRM skids but with the Z400 we used to have my brother decided to get skids cause he kept his z and I got a yfz. Well there came this hiumming from the motor. It was so lound he pulled the motor out 3 times, this was like 2 years ago. He put a new clutch in it and checked the valves and such. He was so pissed he ended up selling it for 2900 and the guy returned it in a coule days cause the noise was so bad. He then resold it for 2300 to another guy, lol.

Well When I got my PRM skids on, guess what, the damn thing hummer and sounded like the motor was grinding inside. It took me a minute but it was the damn skid plates. So the whole time the skids just made that noise.

The PRM skid is one noisy &%[email protected]#%. It bothers me so much. I checked all the bolts and they were tight and then we put the other skids on the other kfz and it does the same thing,

Other than that we put some hours on our machines and the skids are great and i recommend getting them since we bottom out alot.

A fast fix is to cut a old inner tube and glue it to the skid between the frame and skid... Works great... MMM
