Trying to remove the steering stem - I can't get the tie-rod joint off of the stem so that I can pull it through the frame. Any help would be great. Thanks

I find two hammers and tap them simultaneously and the joint will just pop out

I am doing the same thing. The angle to hit the ball joint doesn't seem sufficient or enough clearance. If I am able to get the ball joint out will they still be usable or do I buy a new set?
