Thats a good question. I know the quad engine is highly based on the dirt bike engine. big difference being the reverse gear and the gearing in the transmission. but i am not sure if one will fit in the other.
i have been told by several people that the dirtbike motor is a direct bolt in. The only problem that people have had is mounting the carb since the throttle body isnt as tall as a carb.
I could be wrong, but i thinking i remember reading somewhere that the cyclinder on the KFX was tilted a certain amount of degrees forward to give the quad a better center of gravity.
